Goolsby Brothers and Associates, Inc.
can provide a broad range of integrated digital log analysis services.
We are committed to increasing hydrocarbon reserves through innovative
approaches in petrophysical log analysis. Rock or core to log normalization
is routine in our work, and we typically work in carbonate, shaly sandstone,
and complex mixed environments. The Powerlog software platform allows us
to apply specific borehole corrections for the logging company and tool
string used in each well, and multiwell histograms can be applied in field-wide
curve normalization. We can also perform neural network modeling to generate
curve values for wells with bad borehole conditions or that contain incomplete
log suites or tool problems. We therefore deliver the best possible editing
of digital data. Using this edited data in combination with our experience
and abilities in log interpretation assures you of the best possibility
of identifying hydrocarbon reserves in your wellbore.

An example of the modernization of an old log suite using neural
network modeling and resistivity inversion processing. The bulk of
the hundreds of wells in this field are old log suites with only a few
modern logs and cores to model off of. Several hundred old log suites
were modernized in this field. Using the results of this petrophysical
modeling, reservoir simulation and 3-D seismic mapping were successfully
completed on the field. Notice the bulk volume mobile and immobile
water shown in track eight. To see another example of log analysis
using neural network modeling, go to our "prospect evaluation" link.
